Today, I read the text about Secret in Narrative lesson.

The summary of this story
I put the sentences in the order to produce a summary of the second part of the story.
-Kylie watches the hen sitting on ten eggs.
-She takes the lid off the well.
-She starts to go down the well with her photo album every day.
-She watches Philip and her mother and wonder why her father is not with the.
-Philip discovers her in the well and hits her.
-Kylie throws the chicken down the well.
-Kylie hits the hen and throws it down the well.
-She chooses one special photo which makers hen feel good.
-Kylie cuts off her head from the special photo and throws it away.

I think the themes of this story are...
- Neglect: Kylie's mother had a new husband. She was interested in her husband but forgot her child.
- Coping with the absence of a parent: This story gave the example of the child who had the problems in a family. When I read it, I thought about how to solve the problems.
- Loneliness: The little girl usually separated herself from her family and stayed alone. She liked to think about her father. These thing show me that her felt lonely.

This story have many symbolic.
In my opinion...
- The egg refers to the child that was cared from their parents.
- The well refers to loneliness and sadness.
- The photo refers to the good memory that can't come back again.
- Kylie's cutting of the photo shows the umbrage of Kylie.

   Today,Dr.Usa answer the question in homework and told me to discusss with my friends about : Investigation report article in my homework.



   Next,I learnt in new lesson "Narrative"
Narrative is the funny story.Its purpose is to entertain.They are many types of Narrative.They are typically imaginary but can be functual.She told us the focus of the text is a sequence of action.She taught to find the orientation , complication and resolution including the specific , mainly action verbs, normally past tense and many linking word to do with time.

   Then,I read the article about Secret and made the exercise to complete the summary of the first part of the story by adding three fairly short sentences.And the last I discuss my idea with my friend.


Argentine Prosecutor's Death Ignites Protests and Controversy

(CNN)The furor in Argentina over the puzzling death of a prosecutor investigating a high-profile terror attack looked unlikely to recede as the first forensic results in the case were released Tuesday.

Prosecutor Alberto Nisman was found dead in his apartment just one day before he was supposed to testify before lawmakers about allegations that the country's most powerful officials conspired to cover up Iran's involvement in the 1994 bombing.

Government officials called it a suicide, but theories of something more sinister arose immediately.

Protesters took to the streets Monday night near the presidential palace -- the Casa Rosada -- waving Argentine flags and holding signs proclaiming, "Yo soy Nisman," or "I am Nisman."

In a report Nisman filed last week, he alleged that Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kircher and Foreign Minister Hector Timerman, among others, covered up Iran's involvement in the bombing of a Jewish community center more than 20 years ago that left 85 people dead.

   Today, I learn the lesson same the last week. Dr.Usa  answer the question in the text : My grandpa's funeral in Toraja.

   Then, She told me about the title  "How did it help you to read in English"
We discussed with my friend about it.And change answer and experience khowledge about Recount.The recount help me to understand clearly what the writer want you to khow the main idea and the sequence of events.


 Jakarta bombing: Attackers, civilians killed in blasts claimed by Islamic State,
 police say
Islamic State (IS) militants have claimed a gun and bomb assault on Indonesia's capital, police say, marking the first assault on the Muslim-majority country by the radical group.

 

 Five of the seven people killed were the attackers themselves.
It took security forces about three hours to end the siege near a Starbucks cafe and Sarinah's, Jakarta's oldest department store, after a team of about seven militants traded gunfire with police and blew themselves up."A group of soldiers of the caliphate in Indonesia targeted a gathering from the crusader alliance that fights the Islamic State in Jakarta through planting several explosive devices that went off as four of the soldiers attacked with light weapons and explosive belts," the group said in a statement.The IS statement said there were 15 people killed, but the official tally according to the Indonesian Government remains at seven. An Indonesian police officer and a Canadian man were two other people killed in the attack. Twenty people, including a Dutch man, were wounded.
Authorities said the policeman was killed in a suicide attack on a police booth on the median strip of one of Jakarta's busiest roads, before shots were fired at bystanders.

Deputy National Police Chief Budi Gunawan said two attackers were killed in a shootout with police, while two others were suicide bombers.Two of the militants were taken alive, police said.
Jakarta's Police Chief Tito Karnavian confirmed the deadly blasts were linked to IS.
The Police Chief named an Indonesian militant called Bahrun Naim as the man responsible for plotting them.He has been known to police since 2010 and is believed to be vying to become the leader of Islamic State in South-East Asia.Police believe Naim is in the Syrian city of Raqqa.At least six explosions rocked the area, including one at a Starbucks cafe in the city centre, near a cluster of embassies and the United Nations offices.There was also a gunfight between attackers and police in a movie theatre that was in the same building as a Starbucks cafe, a police spokesman said.
Jakarta police said the situation was now under control but in a sign of public unease, a bang caused by a tyre bursting triggered a bomb scare that sent police cars rushing back to the scene hours after the attack.

Today,It's the first class in this term.Dr.Usa introduced the discouse approach in reading.She described the course descriptions,Objectives,Content,MAterial,Assessment,Grading,text book,and Requirements.She told me the class rule and thing to do.

  -I must to be punctual.                                               
  -I must to pay attention to the lesson.                        
  -Don't use cell phones in the classroom.                   
  -Don't cheat.                                                              
  -I must to follow dress code policy.                          
  -I must to listen while other are speaking or sharing.

  Then, I learn the Recount.Recount is the unfolding of a sequence of events over time.We are using language to keep the past alive and interpret experience.

She told us to find language features like  When?  Who? What?  Where? ,action verbs,linking word to do with time and specific participant.
     Next,I read the text : My grandpa's funeral in Toraja and answer the questions.The wtiter attend the funeral last month.He and his family hold the ceremony about a week.They move the corpse to face north placed on open platform .They brought up the coffin to mountain side family graveyard.
